I am an oversea student, planning to study at the University of Nottingham or the University of Exeter. But I'm afraid that I cannot visit these 2 places in advance. Could you please describe the life of any of them to me? I am concerned with everything relevant, especially price, safety and competition.

I live near Nottingham, the city centre is great for shopping and nightlife, it has a bad rep for gun crime, but the majority of people who live there have never been affected by it.

It will be cheaper to live in Nottingham, they have 2 Universities which are both very good.

Exeter is a nice city and it's close to Cornwall which is a fantastic place to go on holiday!. I don't know much about the university itself though, but the city is nice and it's near the sea, that's about it!

Most people who answered this question are talking about the city centre in Nottingham but if you decide to go there you wont be living anywhere near it. It will be about 30 mins away on the bus. From what I know its a quite community campus with a lot of international students, nightlife istn there but you can travel to it. This is probably better anyway.

Nottingham isn't too bad, Got a few cinemas and scating rink, then theres all the shops (great for shopping), notts county and nottingham forest (woop) trent bridge is a nice area cause it over looks our amazing team Forest!! .. Some places in nottingham is a dive but its quite a good area all in all, Plenty of clubs to drink (i think i heard somewhere we have most clubs in uk) .. So its good for young people. And its not as rough as people make out.

I live in cornwall and Exeter is pretty nice. The crime in Nottingham is really high compared to Exeter.

Exeter is a better uni too, rank 13!

Nottingham is a big castle in the middle of the forest. If you live inside the castle walls, you have to work for the evil Sherrif. Some people choose not to do this so they live in trees in the forest and work for an American chap called Robin of Costner and his merry hollywood actors. They rob rich people and the Sherrif's men, but never actually kill anyone, except by their bad acting.

Exeter is a small car park at the end of the M5 motorway where you have to pull over and eat a pasty... it's the law!
