I'm from New Zealand, and the language we speak is English. I'm currently researching US colleges I want to apply to in a year or so and I see they say every international student needs to take the TOEFL test. Isn't it a "Test of English as a Foreign Language"? Would they really make me take it?

Thank you in advance! xO

you only have to take the test if your native language is not English. so you don't have to take it.

No. In fact even Singaporeans don't have to take TOEFL based on the fact English is the primary language of education.

You also can apply to colleges after O Levels. There's an American College in Singapore that offers a cheap alternative fro an Associates Degree. You would then go to the US as a Junior.

Your bf is powerful. in basic terms foreigners or peeps who take english as a 2d language use grammar it is overprecise. in addition in basic terms a secret agent could desire to p.c. out if the Flag of the Union became flying the different way up, and in basic terms a foreigner might call it the flag of the union maximum english call it the Union Jack. Flag of the Union is an overprecise term, it quite is in basic terms a Union Jack whilst it quite is on a Jack mast of deliver. Take as an occasion the version between a restrictive and non-restrictive relative clause in overprecise grammar certain by way of the presence or absence of a comma. 2 statements the 1st; My sister, who lives in u . s . of america, is an architect. the 2d; My sister who lives in american is an architect. in basic terms a foreigner with overprecise english might argue that the 1st assertion means that I even have extra beneficial than one sister and the 2d the non-restrictive relative clause (no comma) means I even have in basic terms one sister. In English the ish is important. in case you complied with each stereotype of Englishness you would be an aberration. Blonde blue eyed, plum in the throat. i could be very bowled over if maximum English could desire to attain 7.5 and it could be unfair to income somebody on a undertaking they have been in no way taught and except you studied a much off places language whilst might you have been taught English Grammar. yet in many situations arguments with bfs approximately in spite of are in no way relating to the content fabric. i assume he's feeling somewhat disrespected and needs some reassurance approximately his manliness. If it quite is early days it is going to variety itself out, and you have Christmas that's continually a stable time to attempt for fault strains. Oh and the easy way is to take the try yet absolutely everyone quite english does not, it quite is the assumption! a minimum of it quite is english sufficient a attempt to no longer permit absolutely everyone a perfect ten hmmm.
